  An internal auditor of American International School in Abuja told the Federal High Court in Abuja that former Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, paid his children’s school fees up until graduation in dollars Bello is being prosecuted by the EFCC, which has accused him of paying $760,000 in advance for his children’s school fees shortly before leaving office . The witness, Nicholas Ojehomon, revealed this to the court on Thursday. Ojehomon told the court that he did not know Yahya Bello personally at the time but was aware that he was a parent who had enrolled four of his children in the school. This is according to a new report by the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System, which outlines emerging fraud trends in Nigeria’s financial sector . According to the report obtained by Sunday PUNCH, some unscrupulous BVN enrollment agents facilitated the scheme by registering still images of individuals, both Nigerians and foreigners, as live enrollees. The BVNs were then used to open fraudulent accounts across microfinance banks, mobile money operators, and payment service banks . The fraudulent scheme enabled transactions involving the N329m just days after the BVNs were generated and the fake accounts were created .
