The July 4th, 2024 crackdown by men of the Special Lagos Police Anti-Kidnapping taskforce in Ladipo, which also coincides with the United States of America’s declaration of Independence, is nothing but a victory against organized crime in our society where a special police investigative team was trailing these 9 kidnappers who met their waterloo for 8 months for their nefarious activities which include abducting and grabbing wealthy individuals across Isolo, Okota, Ejigbo and Ladipo areas of the State. This operation lasted for one hour which 9 kidnappers were gunned down by the police operatives where 4 ak-47 rifles, four locally made semi-automatic pistols, nine AK-47 magazines, three walkie-talkies, two operational vehicles, a black Toyota 4runner, a blue Lexus RX350 were recovered from the felled suspects including some badly injured suspects who fled the scene after the bloody shootout with the Police crackdown team.

This incident came exactly 7 years in 2017 after notorious Kidnap Kingpin Onwamadike Evans Chukwudumegu was apprehended in his hideout in Magodo Estate in Lagos, before his capture in 2017 Evans was a notorious kidnap warlord who terrorized innocent Nigerians with his nefarious activities, he bought buildings across Lagos State where he kept his victims and demanded millions of dollars in ransom to fund his illegitimate lifestyle…This worrisome development speaks of the ills of society at an alarming rate of which criminal activities such as Internet fraud, Drug trafficking, kidnapping, and abduction by Dare-devil criminals who are bent on making Money the illegal route are on the rise in geometrical proportions, recent reports online are suggestions that a renowned movie producer known as Ason-Rich Productions with the original name Henry Odenigbo was the leader of 9 Man Kidnapping syndicate that was neutralized recently the Police team In Ladipo Market in Lagos, it was alleged that he was using ill-gotten wealth from his Kidnapping activities to fund his Movie productions of which the umbrella Body of Actors Guild of Nigeria(AGN) both in his home State of Rivers and the national body have disowned him as not part of them…This is a clarion call to mostly our Young Men and women who are not interested in hardwork and diligent legitimate efforts in making money but rather choose the part of criminality to wreak havoc on the citizens who cannot move freely in their country due to this dangerous menace of kidnapping and forceful abductions…
