  David Umahi, minister of works, says the first phase of the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway project will be completed on May 29, 2025. Speaking on Thursday in Abuja during an inter-ministerial press briefing as part of activities to mark Nigeria’s 64th independence anniversary, the minister said after the project is completed, it will be tolled for five to 10 years to recover construction costs. The construction of the highway began in March.   The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun has said that the subsidy on fuel, if not removed by President Bola Tinubu, would have cost the country N5.4 trillion by the end of 2024. Abiodun said that it would have been devastating for Nigeria to pay such a huge amount in comparison to the Federal Government’s budget of N6.7 trillion for the same fiscal year. According to the US Attorney’s Office for the District of North Dakota, between November and December of 2020, Christopher Agbaje, along with others, purported to be a business owner in a legal dispute with a Bismarck company, and entered into a fake attorney-client relationship with the firm. After a series of false statements and promises, the firm received a parcel containing a fraudulent Citibank check payable in the amount of $198,850.00, which was deposited in their bank account.
